New Milford PD: Officers Capture Motorcycle Thieves
New Milford police nabbed a pair of thieves who'd just loaded a motorcycle into a van before dawn Friday and took off, authorities said. Officer Michael Lafrano stopped the Perth Amboy pair on River Road and Faller Drive after a caller at a Columbia Street apartment complex alerted police around 3:30 a.m., Detective Lt. Kevin Van Saders said. The van, it turned out, had a license plate stolen from a vehicle parked in the same complex, the lieutenant said. The stolen motorcycle was in the back, he said. Sgt. Motorcyclist Critically Injured In New Milford Crash
A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Sunday night in New Milford, authorities said. The motorcycle struck a guardrail at Monmouth Avenue after the 41-year-old rider apparently lost control while heading north on River Road shortly after 9 p.m., Police Chief Brian Clancy said. The New Milford Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the victim to Hackensack University Medical Center in critical condition, the chief said. River Road was reopened around 11 p.m., he said. New Milford police were investigating.

Five Coronavirus Deaths, 22 Other Cases Reported At New Milford Nursing Home
Five residents at a nursing home in New Milford have died of coronavirus complications and 16 more tested positive, along with six staff members, its parent company confirmed. There may be more there, management at CareOne said in a release.
