PD: West Milford Woman Assaults Clifton Officer, Kicks Out Cruiser Window, Grabs Police Baton
A West Milford woman punched a Clifton police officer in the head and then kicked out the interior partition window of a patrol cruiser and grabbed a police baton after being handcuffed, authorities said.
Ashley Dennison, 33, was with Michael Rompa, 45, of Edison when officers investigating two suspicious vehicles in the Home Depot lot on Bloomfield Avenue spotted them, Detective Sgt. Robert Anderson said Thursday.
One of the vehicles was a 2021 GMC pickup reported stolen from East Windsor and the other a 2020 Chevy van reported stolen out of Edison, he said.

Police: Drunk Man, 43, Charged For Back-To-Back Assaults, Terroristic Threats In Morris County
A Middlesex County man was intoxicated when he committed back-to-back assaults and made terroristic threats at a Morris County gas station, police said.
Michael Nilsen, 43, was seen banging on car windows at QuickChek on South Jefferson Road in Hanover on August 25, Police Chief Mark Roddy said in a release.
Nilsen, of Colonia, was found to be intoxicated, police said.
A follow-up investigation led to his arrest with charges for two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, hindering, criminal mischief, obstruction and disorderly conduct, police said.

A 34-year-old ex-convict from South Jersey has been indicted in connection with the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend after arguing with her about cellphone calls, authorities said.
A county grand jury returned a five-count indictment charging Irvin Hayes of Lawrence in last summer's death of Shamira Williams, 32, of Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.
Hayes was charged with first-degree murder, resisting arrest, obstructing and several weapons charges, Onofti said on Thursday.

A 37-year-old wanted man from Essex County has been arrested in Atlantic City, authorities said.
Jamil Redd, 37, of Newark, was charged after trying to flee Atlantic City police on Thursday, a police department spokesman said.
Sgt. Richard Andrews and Det. Brian Hambrecht tried to stop Redd's vehicle at 9:23 a.m. on South Carolina Avenue during a drug investigation, police said.
Redd had an active warrant out for his arrest on a parole violation, police said.
