Adult, Three Kids Stricken By CO Poisoning In Hackensack Home
A holiday season tragedy was avoided Tuesday when a Hackensack woman and three young children were hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning, authorities said. A malfunctioning boiler in their two-family home on Atlantic Street off Railroad Avenue sent all four to Hackensack University Medical Center early on Dec. 6, said Police Capt. Michael Antista, the officer in charge of the city police department. A local church pastor was struck and killed by a commuter train Saturday afternoon in Hackensack, authorities said. The Rev. Robert Davis Sr. was struck at the Passaic Street crossing off Railroad Avenue across from the Hackensack Market around 2:45 p.m., city Police Capt. Darrin DeWitt said. It wasn't immediately clear how Davis, the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, ended up in the path of the Spring Valley-bound #2115 NJ Transit train or which part struck him. His wife, the Rev.
