No one was injured but at least 400 customers lost electricity after two manholes exploded about 9 a.m., authorities said. A 47-year-old drunken driver is facing multiple charges for a crash that downed a utility pole, started a brush fire and caused a power massive power outage over the weekend in Toms River, authorities said. These Jersey Shore Areas Had Highest Wind Gusts During This Week's Storm
The wind during this week's Nor'easter may have been worse than the snow. The National Weather Service has released a list of where the highest gusts were reported Wednesday and Thursday. The highest gusts averaged between 47 and 59 miles an hour, mostly along the Jersey Shore. The highest gusts in New Jersey were reported in Ocean County. At 10:24 p.m. on Dec. 16 in Mantoloking, a 62 mph gust was reported. The second-highest gust in New Jersey was in Beach Haven at 9:33 p.m., at 60 mph. Rides Evacuated After Power Lost At Six Flags Great Adventure
A brief power outage prompted the evacuation of rides at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township on Monday, authorities said. The loss of electricity left some park-goers stuck on rides for up to 25 minutes, but no one was hurt, said Kristen Fitzgerald, a park spokeswoman. Marlboro Crash Leaves Thousands Without Power
About 2,000 Marlboro residents were without power on Tuesday after a serious car crash, authorities said. First responders were called to Texas and Greenwood roads about 8:15 a.m to rescue a trapped driver, Marlboro police said. There were no immediate details on the driver's injuries.
