A hatchet-wielding 50-year-old man who forced an ex-girlfriend to have sex was sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison, authorities said.
Julio Sigurani, Jr., of Deerfield, was sentenced on Monday, May 13, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-Mcrae. Sigurani was convicted at a trial of sexual assault and kidnapping, Webb-McRae said.
The charges stemmed from a sexual assault that occurred on Aug. 13, 2020, in Deerfield. The defendant and victim had previously been in a relationship, the prosecutor said.

Kenneth Knapp Jr., 32, of Matawan, was sentenced on Thursday, Apr. 18 to 30 years in state prison, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. He pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Jan. 23 to first-degree aggravated manslaughter and second-degree desecration of human remains.

Man Admits To Deadly Shooting In Crowded Atlantic City Hotel Lobby: Prosecutors
A Cumberland County man pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a man at an Atlantic City hotel, authorities said.
Leon Green, 33, of Millville, entered a plea on Friday, Mar. 8, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He was charged in the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Yusef Abdullah on Friday, June 1, 2018.
Investigators said Green entered the now-closed Fox Manor Hotel on Pacific Avenue and fired into the crowded lobby. Abdullah, who was not the intended target, was shot and died weeks later.

A Pennsylvania man will spend at least two decades in prison for killing two people during an illegal car rally in Wildwood, authorities said.
Gerald White, 38, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced on Thursday, Feb. 8 to 25 years in prison, for killing two people at the violent H2oi car rally in 2022, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced.
White has a long history of traffic violations in New Jersey, dating back to 2005. After other repeated offenses, he was charged with having a suspended driver's license during traffic stops in 2011, 2013, and 2020.

A 41-year-old South Jersey man has been sentenced to a maximum 20 years in state prison for fatally stabbing his father, authorities said Wednesday.
Michael N. Tedesco, 41, of Millville in Cumberland County also received a five-year prison sentence, to be served consecutively, for a probation violation, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
Tedesco was found guilty by a jury on Oct. 29 of second-degree manslaughter in the slaying of Gary Tedesco, 66, also of Millville, the prosecutor said.
