A New Jersey married couple was sentenced to prison time after both were caught running an unlicensed medical practice where he posed as a doctor and sexually assaulted patients, authorities said. The medical practice of Orger Sibaja-Bolanos, 67, and his wife, Rosa Perez, 64, both of Old Bridge, came under investigation in 2022 after two patients reported being sexually assaulted by Sibaja-Bolanos, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said (scroll down for sentencings). A 37-year-old man from Edison was charged in the fatal stabbing of a woman he knew, authorities said. Joan Franklin Polanco, 37, was detained by NYPD hours after the Sunday, July 21 stabbing, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan. Lizbeth Benitez-Rivera, 37, of Edison, was found with multiple stab wounds by her son, they said. Benitez-Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene. Two police officers are recovering from injuries after being shot overnight at a hotel in Woodbridge while attempting to track down a homicide suspect. Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. As of 2:30 p.m., one victim had died and the other remains critical, Ciccone and McFadden said.
