One lucky ticket matched all five numbers drawn winning the $220,895 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot, state Lottery officials said. The winning numbers drawn on Thursday, March 14 were: 04, 06, 30, 40 and 44 and the XTRA number was: 03. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for the winning ticket sold. The winning ticket was sold at Cooke Avenue Food Mart, 24 Cooke Ave., Carteret in Middlesex County.

NJ Baby Killed By Dog ID'd In Campaign
Support is surging for a New Jersey family whose 3-month-old baby was killed by the family dog. Daymon Jair Balbuena was mauled by the dog at his home on Mereline Avenue in Avenel around 6:15 a.m. Saturday, March 9, according to a GoFundMe campaign, along with Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge Police Department Director Robert Hubner. Carteret Man Killed In Targeted Shooting: Prosecutor
A 23-year-old man from Carteret was killed in a targeted shooting, authorities said. Evan Blozen died as a result of the shooting, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden. On Tuesday, March 12, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to Roosevelt Avenue. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. A 23-year-old New Brunswick man was killed and a second man is in critical condition after a targeted shooting, authorities said. Numi Simmons died in the attack, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Chief Vincent Sabo. A South Carolina man who killed a clerk at a gas station in Edison during an armed robbery in 2018 has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for first-degree murder, authorities said. Marcus A. Wright, 27, of Beaufort, SC, fatally shot the Speedway worker on Dec. 20, 2018, on Amboy Avenue, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. A 27-year-old Middlesex County man with autism who had been missing tor two days was found with friends in New York City, authorities said. Aaron Bronfenbrener left his home near Buckelew Avenue in Monroe Township around 7 a.m. Saturday, March 2, police said. "He was found about two hours ago and is home and fine, said Monroe Police Lt. Sergeis Jangols shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday March 4. His mother called police when she discovered he was gone, Jangols said.

Fire Destroys Food Pantry In Central Jersey
Fire destroyed a food and clothing pantry in Middlesex County, authorities said. The fire broke out in a building leased by Fish Inc. on the 400 block of New Market Road at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, according to Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler, who was at the scene. Timothy Puskas Exonerated In Billy McCaw Murder
Timothy Puskas is a free man. The one-time convicted killer was released on Wednesday, Feb. 21, from MIddlesex County Jail, after winning a second trial on a murder charge, according to his attorney, Joseph Mazraani. Puskas was convicted seven years ago in the slaying of 22-year-old college student William “Billy” McCaw in New Brunswick. He'd been incarcerated for 10 years.
