Another round of severe thunderstorms could spoil the Fourth of July for revelers along the East Coast, meteorologists warn. Nearly all of New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and the southeastern-most parts of Pennsylvania are at risk for flooding downpours, lightning strikes, 55 mph winds and even hail in the mid-to-late afternoon, meteorologists at AccuWeather and the National Weather Service warn. An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were killed and 28 others wounded in a mass shooting at a late-night block party in Baltimore. Angels In Blue Honored In Cresskill For Saving Convulsing Infant's Life
Guardian angels come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Three of them were all wearing blue one steamy day last summer when an infant suddenly stopped breathing in Cresskill. Cresskill Police Officer Bryan Gil was working a road detail at the intersection of Union Avenue and Piermont Road when he heard a young mother scream for help. Her child, barely 15 months old, had begun convulsing. Gil radioed for EMS and other resources, then began delivering back blows to help clear the infant's airway. A 59-year-old Lakewood man has been charged with killing his live-in girlfriend before fleeing to Maryland, authorities said. John Filistovich was charged on Thursday, June 1 with murder in connection with the beating and suffocation of Betty Perry, 60, of Lakewood, they said. A nine-foot white shark pinged off of the New Jersey coast over the weekend and early this week. According to shark research center OCEARCH, the dorsal fin of Simon — who weighs 434 pounds and measures nine feet and six inches in length — surfaced several times Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1 in Ocean County.
