The crash happened on Monday, Sept. 8, when a car stopped short in front of Cotto on I-287, according to a GoFundMe launched by Robert Cintron. Cotto braked to avoid hitting the car, was thrown from his motorcycle into the side of a tractor-trailer, and was then run over by the truck, the campaign says. Records show Cotto is from Union. Crash I-287 South Plainfield A vehicle veered off of Interstate 287 in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10 northbound near Exit 4 (Durham Road) in South Plainfield, according to New Jersey State Police. Troopers responded to a motorist aid, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman. Upon the trooper’s arrival, a Freightliner box truck ran off the road and into a ditch, he said. There were no injuries reported, Lebron said. Two right lanes of three lanes were closed causing traffic delays, 511nj.org reported.

The crash occurred at 2:06 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 at milepost 1 in Metuchen, according to Sgt. Philip Curry, a spokesman for the the New Jersey State Police. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash including a dump truck that overturned and spilled dirt across the roadway, Curry said. No serious injuries were reported and I-287 was re-opened approximately 2.5 hours after the crash occurred, he said.
