One Person Killed In Middlesex County House Fire
First responders were called to a fatal house fire on Wednesday morning in Middlesex County. The fire was reported on South Inman Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township about 9 a.m. The fire was knocked down quickly, but one victim was found dead in the basement, according to initial reports. The home belonged to a family of five, according to the Red Cross of New Jersey. The name of the 21-year-old victim has not been released. Support is surging for a Metuchen family following a Christmas Eve fire that ravaged their home, killing their two dogs, family members and neighbors say. The fire at the Mojica family's Park Place house broke out at approximately 8:25 p.m. -- about 10 minutes after they'd left for the night, fire officials and family members said. Man, 63, Dies In Piscataway House Fire
A 63-year-old man died in a Piscataway house fire Saturday. Smoke billowed from 827 Maple Ave., as firefighters arrived following a neighbor's 9-1-1 call, police said. Fire responders pulled the unconscious victim and started performing CPR, before he was taken to JFK Medical Center, police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The New Market Fire Company, PSE&G, Piscataway Office of Emergency Management and the Piscataway Fire Inspector responded. Police did not release the victim's identity.

Lawnmower Fire Ravages Central Jersey Home
A Central Jersey home was damaged in a fire that started from lawn mower being stored on the side of the house, then spread to a nearby propane grill on Friday afternoon, officials said. : Woman, 72, Dies In Edison House Fire
UPDATED: An elderly woman died Monday after a fire at her home in Middlesex County, authorities said. The fire was not suspicious in origin, Edison Police Lt. Robert Dudash said. The 72-year-old woman lived alone in the two-story house, Dudash said. Her name was not released pending notification of her family. : Monmouth Beach Firefighters Battle House Blaze
A partial collapse was reported as firefighters worked to knock down a blaze at two Monmouth Beach houses late Tuesday morning. Emergency crews were called to 18 Valentine St. at Riverdale Avenue about 11:30 a.m. Several roads were closed in the area, and Monmouth Beach police advised people to stay away. Firefighters Douse Allendale House Blaze
Firefighters doused a house blaze in Allendale late Sunday. The fire broke out on the second floor of the 2½-story, wood-frame house on West Crescent Avenue off Franklin Turnpike around 10:15 p.m. It went to a second alarm for coverage 20 minutes later and was knocked down 10 minutes or so after that, responders said. Lightning Strikes Twice: Fire Again Ravages Burned-Out Middlesex Home Under Renovation
A fire on Saturday severely damaged a Middlesex County house that was gutted by a blaze earlier this year. The fire began in the basement of the Charles Street home in Metuchen shortly before 3:30 p.m., responders said. Firefighters made quick work of the flames in the basement, but the fire spread up the walls, they said. No serious injuries were immediately reported. A couple who owns the home lost their cat and all their belongings in a Jan. 22 fire that began on the front porch and destroyed the house.
