Bicyclist Hit By Vehicle, Killed In Central Jersey: Prosecutors
A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle and killed in a crash in Holmdel, authorities said. Holmdel police responded to the wreck on Bethany Road on Monday, Aug. 12, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash happened near the intersection with Galway Drive just before 8 a.m. The 65-year-old Holmdel man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The vehicle's driver remained at the scene and no charges or summonses have been filed as of Tuesday, Aug. 13. The crash investigation closed Bethany between Hillcrest and Line roads. Six People Injured In Seven-Vehicle Crash In Central Jersey
Six people were injured in a crash on a busy road in Monmouth County, authorities said. Holmdel police responded to the crash near the intersection of Route 35 and Laurel Avenue at around 1:17 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, the department said in a news release. Officers found seven vehicles involved with one vehicle smoking, as well as large amounts of oil and gas leaking into the road. All six victims didn't suffer life-threatening injuries, according to police. Police in Monmouth County recovered a stolen car that crashed on the Garden State Parkway and made one arrest, authorities said. One suspect was in custody at about 8:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14. Police have identified the two teenagers from Essex County who were arrested on the Jersey Shore in connection with a stolen BMW. On Friday, May 13, shortly after midnight, a Tinton Falls police officer located a BMW 3-Series sedan that was reported stolen from Lawrenceville Police. Monmouth Motorcyclist Airlifted After Crash Near GSP In Holmdel
A motorcyclist who wiped out overnight Sunday near the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, authorities said. The 38-year-old Hazlet resident “failed to negotiate” a curve on Holmdel Road just before the Line Road fork and struck an embankment on the southbound side shortly before 1 a.m., Holmdel police said.
