A grand jury voted to support charges filed by authorities against a Moonachie motorist in the hit-and-run death of a Paterson man on Route 3 in Clifton earlier this year. Investigators were drawing closer to cracking the case when Bryan Meza-Roca, 26, surrendered to face charges of leaving the scene of a fatal crash and endangering an injured victim, authorities said. Police seek the public's help locating a bright red van that allegedly struck and dragged a 62-year-old woman in a Middlesex County supermarket parking lot, authorities said. The Milltown Police Department seeks assistance identifying the driver of the van shown above. The hit-and-run crash occurred on Wednesday at about 3:50 p.m. and was alerted by East Brunswick police. Philly Man Gets 6 Years In NJ State Prison For Fatal High-Speed Crash On Tacony-Palmyra Bridge
A Philadelphia man who was driving at a high rate of speed on the Tacony-Palmyra bridge has been sentenced to six years in New Jersey state prison for his role in causing a five-car collision that killed one of the drivers, authorities said. Jonathan Ramos, 29, of Philadelphia pleaded guilty in July to leaving the scene of a fatal accident as well as traffic summonses for speeding and driving with a suspended license, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina. Trenton Driver Left Pedestrian Crash Scene In Unsafe Van, NJ Police Say
A pre-dawn hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 52-year-old pedestrian from East Windsor remains under investigation, authorities said. The pedestrian, who was crossing Route 130 westbound, suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. The 35-year-old driver of a Ford Econoline van, from Trenton, was arrested and charged after allegedly fleeing the scene, according to a crash report released by East Windsor Police Chief James A. There has been an outpouring of community support for a 54-year-old woman from Mercer County reportedly killed by a hit-and-run driver as she walked along Route 1. Maria Angélica Moran Moreira, 54, of Lawrenceville, was hit by a northbound vehicle about 6:30 a.m. Monday near Bakers Basin Road in Lawrence Township, police said.
