: Bergen Man, 68, Electrocuted By Wire Downed By Storm
A River Vale father of two was electrocuted Wednesday when he apparently touched a live wire downed by Tropical Storm Isaias, responders said. John Fahey, 68, was clearing branches and other debris from his front yard on Demarest Avenue at the Hillsdale border when he apparently walked into the wire around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, they said. Officers found him unresponsive and not breathing, Police Chief Sean Scheidle said. A PSE&G crew was summoned to cut power. A Bergenfield ex-con with a history of arrests in no fewer than a dozen Bergen County towns assaulted a woman, damaged a Closter police car and threatened to kill the arresting officers, authorities said Tuesday. Firefighters Douse Westwood Blaze
Firefighters doused a quick-moving blaze that severely damaged a Westwood home Thursday morning. The fire broke out on the second floor of the Hillside Avenue home around 5:15 a.m. and blew through the attic. A candle left burning overnight may have been to blame, responders said. The pastor of Cliffside Park’s Church of the Epiphany has resigned amid allegations that he abused a minor before he was ordained. The Rev. : Search Ends For Missing Jersey Shore Woman, 66, With Bergen County Family
A 66-year-old Lakewood woman with family in Bergen County was found in a Brooklyn hospital after she'd been missing more than a month, authorities told Daily Voice early Friday. Dale Murberg, 66, was safe and being reunited with family, they said. A massive search began after Murberg left the Lexington Rest Home on 7th Street in Lakewood on April 18. Among those concerned was her sister, who lives in Hillsdale.

A driver killed in a Wednesday morning crash on the Garden State Parkway was identified as a 53-year-old Hillsdale woman. A Toyota RAV 4 driven by Shang Nam was disabled by another crash when it was struck in the EZ-Pass express lanes on the southbound Parkway in Washington Township by an Audi A4 driven by a 40-year-old Upper Saddle River man shortly before 6 a.m., Sgt. A recently-sold Westwood house that was undergoing renovations went up in flames overnight, injuring seven Hillsdale firefighters. The firefighters were checked out for what turned out to be minor injuries at nearby Pascack Valley Medical Center (HUMC) after a porch roof collapsed on them in the 5:30 a.m. Oakland Avenue blaze on Wednesday.
