UPDATE: A volunteer firefighter accused in a horrific road-rage crash that nearly killed a fellow group of fellow Bergen County teens last week was brought back to New Jersey to face charges. Luke G. Stein, 18, of Cresskill was booked into the Bergen County Jail on Monday, Oct. 17, after being brought from the Boulder County Jail in Colorado. Authorities there seized Stein this past Friday on a warrant from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office that charges him with five counts of aggravated assault, as well as impersonating a law enforcement officer. Three teenagers were stabbed in an incident that authorities initially believed occurred at Hackensack High School. The confusion began with a report to city police of a fight with possible weapons at the high school around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, said Capt. UPDATE: An overnight stolen vehicle chase ended in a crash that sent a Paramus police officer to the hospital, three Newark thieves to jail and two department cruisers to the shop, authorities said. Police from Saddle River and Hillsdale began pursuing a stolen 2022 Mercedes GLS 450 and a tandem vehicle shortly after midnight Thursday, Oct. 13, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said. Banana Load Shifts, Tractor-Trailer Tips Exiting Route 80
A tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized after his rig tipped coming off Route 80 with a load of bananas, responders said. The driver climbed out of his cab after the rig landed on its side at the Green Street exit off the westbound highway in Hackensack shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered serious. Hackensack firefighters cleaned up a minor fuel spill. New Jersey State Police responded and are investigating the cause.

A man walking from MetLife Stadium on Route 3 after the Giants-Cowboys Monday Night Football game was clocked in the head by the mirror of a rental truck. A motorcyclist had his arm amputated following a horrific crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, responders said. The 26-year-old Bronx resident was headed south in the express lanes at milepost 121 in Englewood when he lost control of the KTM motorcycle and was ejected shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, New Jersey State Trooper II Charles Marchan said. : Electrician From Hudson County Falls To His Death At Construction Site
An electrician fell 40 feet to his death at a Lodi construction site. The 43-year-old outside contractor from Guttenberg was in cardiac arrest while being transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with a head injury following the 11:40 a.m. mishap Friday, Sept. 9, on Industrial Road. Fellow workers had done their best to tend to him before responders arrived, Lodi Police Sgt. Dominic Miller said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, Miller said. The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification responded to collect evidence and OSHA was notified, he said.
