New York Kayaker Mourned After Death During Nor'easter
Memorial services have been scheduled to honor the life of a Westchester County man who died after a powerful Nor'easter rolled in while he was kayaking on the Long Island Sound. Laurence Broderick, age 45, of Scarsdale, was reported overdue by his family on Tuesday, Oct. 26, after he left Hempstead en route to Mamamronek in his kayak at about 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, authorities reported. 19: NJ Announces 'Aggressive' Reopening Steps Effective This Month
Life will look even more normal this month, as New Jersey will lift some of its biggest COVID-19 restrictions, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday. Come May 7, the prohibition on indoor bar seating will be lifted as long as social distancing is in place; prohibition on buffets and and other self-service foods will be lifted along with other self-service foods at restaurants. Rumors of a New Jersey-wide lockdown are just that, Gov. Phil Murphy said Monday: Rumors. "Just because we say all options are on the table doesn't mean we're about to exercise any of those options," the governor said during Monday's COVID-19 briefing.
