One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a fire tore through a home in Monmouth County on Saturday morning, March 15, authorities said. Police responded to 25 Dakarla Dr. in Middletown, at approximately 6:48 a.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire, according to Middletown Township Police Deputy Chief Paul Bailey. Officers arrived to find an active blaze, and units from the Middletown Township Fire Department were dispatched to battle the flames, Bailey said. A student and a teacher suffered burns during a cooking class at Monroe Township Middle School on Wednesday, March 12, authorities said. The student came in contact with an open flame during the class, causing her clothes to ignite, Monroe Township police said. A gas explosion blew out the first-floor windows of a Perth Amboy restaurant and injured one person Thursday afternoon, Feb. 20, ABC7 reports. Fire crews arrived at the Hall Avenue scene around 3:40 p.m. to find an active gas leak and smoke coming from the building, prompting evacuations before Elizabethtown Gas secured the gas main and crews extinguished the flames, the outlet said. Massive Fire Rips Through Storage Unit Facility In Cape May County
Firefighters were on scene of a major blaze at a Cape May County storage unity facility Wednesday morning, Feb. 19.
