Developing: Pedestrian Struck By Car, Seriously Injured In Somerset County A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Somerset County, initial police reports say. The crash occurred on Grandview Road around 9:30 a.m., in Montgomery. A medevac was placed on standby but the victim apparently was transported by ambulance. Police Lt. The crash occurred Thursday afternoon on a curvy, wood-lined stretch of Bear Tavern Road near Maddock Road in Hopewell Township, initial reports said. A female bicyclist in her 30s may have suffered a head injury, according to an unconfirmed report.  A medevac helicopter was requested to airlift her to an area hospital, reports said. Hillsborough Man Crushed To Death By Lawnmower A 74-year-old Hillsborough man was crushed to death by a commercial lawnmower the weekend, authorities said. Police found John Levinski under the machine on the 400 block of Township Line and not breathing after neighbors called 911 just before 5 p.m., Hillsborough police said. The mower had been hoisted in the air by a cable that was attached to a Kubota tractor when the cable broke and the mower fell on Levinski, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident has been ruled accidental in nature.

The crash occurred off of Tyrpak Road northbound near West Farms Road. The driver got out under his own steam after the truck hit a pole and a tree, landing on its side on the northbound highway outside the Trader Joe's near the Midland Avenue exit shortly before 6:30 a.m. The right and center lanes were temporarily closed as a heavy duty wrecker righted and removed the truck. The mishap left the trailer on on side of the highway and part of the rig on the other part near westbound Exit 58 around midnight.
