A massive blast at a Tennessee explosives plant leveled a building, sent thick black smoke into the sky and left workers missing as rescuers waited out secondary blasts. An eyesore is no more in Skillman. An abandoned gas station at the corner of Route 206 and Route 518 was recently demolished to the cheers of town officials as the excavator crashed through the broken down roof. “We are glad to finally move forward and see this eyesore removed from Montgomery’s busy commercial gateway,” said Deputy Mayor Vince Barragan. Cape May residents will get their final view of a once-towering coal-burning power plant when the smokestack of the former B.L. England power plant is imploded later this month.
