3 NJ Walmart Stores Close Due To COVID
Three Walmart stores across New Jersey have closed due to COVID-19. The latest store to close was in Manville (Somerset County), which was shut temporarily Sunday for cleaning, NJ Advance Media reports. It was expected to reopen Tuesday, Walmart officials told the outlet. The Linden Supercenter closed last week after an employee tested positive for the virus. 'Scam' At Local COVID Testing Site Turns Out Legitimate, Police Say
What at first appeared to be a COVID-19 testing fraud in Oakland was actually a legitimate operation, police said. Several people were waiting on line for testing at a local business on Tuesday when they were approached by two men in lab coats who said they were associated with the facility, authorities said. Federal Judge In NJ Orders Duo To Stop Selling Supposed COVID 'Cure'
UPDATE: A federal judge has issued a final order to a retired New Jersey lawyer and formerly licensed psychiatrist from Westchester to stop selling unapproved and misbranded drugs advertised as a cure for COVID-19. Ralph Fucetola of Newton and his partner, Rima Laibow, formerly of Croton-on-Hudson, sold a product that they claimed would "cure, mitigate, treat or prevent" the coronavirus, the Justice Department said Tuesday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has halved the number of days that those who test positive for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic have to isolate for. Instead of spending 10 days in quarantine, those who test positive for COVID-19 are looking at just five, health officials announced Monday, Dec. 27. Two siblings and their mother arrested in a horrific case of elder abuse in Pennsylvania are accused of neglecting a 76-year-old woman in their care for years. Lori Giacomelli, 56, of Forward Township (Allegheny County) and her children Rachael, 24, and Nicholas, 20, were each charged with two counts of neglect of a care-dependent person.
