Lead and cadmium have been found in dozens of popular brands of dark chocolate, according to a new study from Consumer Reports. Was your favorite brand included? The test comprised 28 big- and small-name brands, from Hershey’s, Godiva, and Lindt to Trader Joe’s, Hu, and Lily’s. The United States Food and Drug Administration is investigating reports from consumers who say they got sick after eating Lucky Charms. The website IWasPoisoned.com reported that food poisoning reports stemming from the popular General Mills cereal brand began trending on its website beginning in late 2021, and it has received hundreds of reports of people saying they fell sick after eating the product. Unsafe Levels Of Toxic Chemicals Found In Packaging At 8 Fast Food Chains: Study
Toxic chemicals known as "forever chemicals" have been found in food packaging used by eight fast-food chains, according to a new study by Consumer Reports. The PFAs commonly found in non-stick pans and waterproof gear are also in food packaging that keep fatty and oily liquids from leaking through, often used by fast-food joints. Exposure to PFAs have been proven to cause a suppressed immune system, lower birth weight and increased risk for some cancers, Consumer Reports says.
