A Burlington City school crossing guard was killed while shielding two children from an oncoming car, authorities said. Bruce Morlack, 74, died in the crash on Friday, Dec. 6, the City of Burlington Police Department said in a news release. A former bank employee has been charged with stealing nearly $1 million from a customer whom he'd befriended then invested the money in side business ventures, authorities in Burlington County announced. All the employees at an Amazon Warehouse in New Jersey were evacuated Monday morning due to a bomb threat, according to Burlington police. A South Jersey man is facing an attempted murder charge after stabbing another man in the neck early Sunday morning, authorities said Monday. A suspect in the stabbing death a 61-year-old Burlington woman committed suicide late Thursday when detectives approached him outside a Travel Inn motel, authorities said. A 61-year-old woman was beaten and stabbed to death inside her South Jersey home, authorities said. The body of Carla Nesmith was found at about 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday by another resident who had retuned to the home in Burlington City, they said.
