Emmy Winner Who Appeared On Northern Exposure, Desperate Housewives, Young Sheldon Dies An Emmy Award-winning actress known for her roles in several popular TV series has died. Valerie Mahaffey was 71 years old, and had been battling cancer, her publicist told The Hollywood Reporter. She died on Friday, May 30 in Los Angeles.  Mahaffey was known for playing eccentric characters on Desperate Housewives, Young Sheldon, Northern Exposure, and Big Sky. In 1992, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance on the CBS series Northern Exposure in 1992. Kelsey Grammer Pours Drinks At Ellery's Grill & Pub The good doctor is in the house. Kelsey Grammer will be pouring drinks at Ellery's Grill & Pub on Friday, Jan. 26. He's expected to show up about 7:30 p.m. and stay for a couple of hours, according to Ben Hydo, the pub's general manager. It's all part of a Garden State tour promoting Faith American Brewing Company. Hydo said Grammer makes it a point to try to meet every guest. "We do have a ton of people coming tonight," he said.
