Sayreville Man Dragged Cop With Car, Rammed Into Police Vehicles: East Brunswick PD
A 32-year-old Sayreville man was arrested and charged with attempted murder following multiple encounters with law enforcement on Friday, Jan. 9, authorities said.
That day, Sayreville police pulled over Rennard Roseburgh for a traffic violation, East Brunswick Police Chief Frank LoSacco said. Roseburgh fled from the traffic stop by accelerating at a high speed, which included dragging the police officer, LoSacco said.
Roseburgh was unable to be apprehended, but a warrant was issued for his arrest, and the East Brunswick Police were notified of the incident, LoSacco said.

15-Year-Old Leads NJ Police On Multi-State Chase In Stolen Car, Crashes: Authorities
A 15-year-old from Pennsylvania led police on a high-speed multi-state chase from New Jersey into Rockland County in a stolen car before crashing into a tree on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, police said.
The pursuit began just after noon on Sunday, May 11, when troopers responded to a report of a vehicle being chased northbound on the parkway in the town of Clarkstown, New York State Police announced on Monday, May 12.

Scott Peeler, 48, Of Cherry Hill, Rutgers University Football Player
Scott R. Peeler died on Jan. 30 at home in Cherry Hill, according to an obituary published by Healey Funeral Homes.
Born in Philadelphia, Scott grew up in Cherry Hill and graduated from Cherry Hill East High School, his obituary said.
Scott was a football star selected first-team All-State, All-South Jersey, All-Conference and Group IV. He continued his education and football career at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, his obit said.

Wildwood Home Invaders Crash Van In Floodwaters Amid Slow-Speed Pursuit: Police
Two men were arrested after invading someone's home in Wildwood then crashing a van in floodwaters while trying to get away from police, authorities said.
Robert McMichael, 38, of Wildwood, and Scott Hudson, 31, of West Wildwood, were later arrested in connection with the incident that began on the 200 block of East Bennett Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, Wildwood police said.
McMichael and Hudson assaulted the homeowner before stealing items from the house, police said.

A campaign has been launched by the grandchildren of a 74-year-old woman who police say was decapitated by her son in New Jersey.
More than $2,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe launched for the funeral of Alexandria Surgent, by her grandchildren, as of Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Armed Robber Admits Role In Multiple Liquor, Convenience Store Holdups In NJ, NY
UPDATE: A member of a New Jersey-based armed robbery crew copped to holding up five liquor and convenience stores in two states, federal authorities said.
Jaime Fontanez, 45, of Elizabeth and two accomplices went on a six-month armed robbery spree beginning in August 2018, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
Federal authorities tied the crew to 13 holdups in all in Essex, Union and Middlesex counties, as well as in the Bronx and upstate New York, the U.S. attorney said.
