Convicted Killer, Fellow Ex-Con Charged With Gunning Down Paterson Man, Wounding Companion
A man who was killed and a woman who was with him were shot by two Paterson ex-cons, one of whom recently served nearly a decade for slaying an aspiring rapper and the other who was tracked down in Virginia, authorities announced.
Shaquan Winstead, 28, and David “Scrappy” Armfield, 31, are both charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 1 shooting death of Briheem Nero, 42, of Paterson at what may well be the city’s deadliest street corner.
An unidentified 49-year-old woman who was with Nero was shot in the arm, for which Winstead and Armfield are charged with attempted murder.

Noontime temperatures in Paterson were way too high for a man to be pulling a ski mask over his face, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik said.
Jeziel Cabral Rodriguez, 32, began tipping away as detectives from his fugitive squad approached a group gathered in front of a Park Avenue grocery store, the sheriff said.
Then he took off on foot.
Rodriguez darted down a driveway on nearby Carroll Street, then hopped into a parked Chevy Malibu -- where the detectives found him, Berdnik said.

Clifton Auto Tech, 25, Charged With Trafficking Child Porn
A 25-year-old Clifton man who works as an auto technician in Morris County was caught trafficking child porn, authorities said.
Angel Garcia is charged with being the leader of a child pornography network, as well as possessing, maintaining and distributing the images, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik said.
He was arrested on Thursday, May 5, by detectives from the sheriff's Internet Crime Against Children Task Force who found him "distributing several videos and images of child sexual abuse material using Internet chat platforms," Berdnik said.
