Missing Juvenile Located, Arrested For Stealing Vehicle: Berkeley Heights PD
A missing teenager was located and subsequently arrested for stealing a vehicle on Monday, Oct. 21, in Berkeley Heights, police said. Bernards Township police notified surrounding municipalities of a missing juvenile from a residential school within their township, Berkeley Heights police said. The juvenile was found at a family member's residence in Berkeley Heights hours later but fled prior to the arrival of the police, officers said. Jersey Shore Native Who Became Marine Corps Leader Dies, 95: 'His Legacy Will Endure'
A Jersey Shore native who became the highest-ranking officer in the Marines has died, the military branch said. Retired Gen. Alfred Gray Jr. died on Wednesday, Mar. 20 after "a brief stay in hospice care," the U.S. Marines Corps announced. He was 95 years old. Gray Jr. was the 29th commandant of the Marine Corps from 1987 to 1991. The 45-year-old boater killed this week in Cape May Harbor is being mourned by those who knew him. Christopher W. Heitman, a longtime camera operator for various news networks, was operating a 17-foot Sea Hunt struck a pipe that broke free from its mooring and entered the channel around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, New Jersey State Police said. A pair of tornados touched down in New Jersey and Pennsylvania during Monday, June 26's afternoon storms, the National Weather Service confirmed. Few details have been released in the twisters that touched down in Bernardsville (Somerset County, NJ) and Lower Mt. Bethel Township (Northampton County, PA).
