Jersey Shore Man Who Had 157 Cats At Home Indicted, Prosecutors Say
A Brick Township man was indicted after more than 150 cats were found in his home, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 56-year-old Jeffrey Finlay on Wednesday, Aug. 28 for 149 counts of animal cruelty, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. Finlay called Brick police to help remove the animals from his house on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Officers found about 157 cats and three dogs at the Mantoloking Road home. One of the 180 animals rescued last month from an alleged Jersey Shore puppy mill was reunited with its original owners from Tennessee on New Year's Eve. Brick detectives were conducting surveillance around the Walmart on Route 88 when they reportedly overheard four suspects talking about their engagement in drug activity, police said. The detectives made contact with the suspects on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. and K-9 Officer Ray LaPoint responded with his K-9 partner Rebel. Brick Police Department's Street Crimes Unit (SCU) made multiple drug busts in January involving heroin, crack cocaine, pills and paraphernalia, authorities said. Police: Lakewood Man Moons Walmart Customers, Records It
A Lakewood man mooned several Walmart customers -- including a young child -- and recorded it on his cellphone, authorities said. Mordechai Grubin, 27, was charged with lewdness, Brick Sgt.
