Bronx Boat Explosion: DWI Captain Charged In Fire That Sent 22 Into Long Island Sound, Cops Say A 33-year-old Bronx, NY man has been charged with DWI in a boat explosion that forced 22 people into the water and 23 to the hospital on Saturday, June 7, officials said. Just before 9 p.m., police got a call reporting a boat fire in the Long Island Sound near Hart Island, a DCPI spokesperson said. Atlantic City Boat Explosion Sends Debris Flying One person was injured by flying debris after a boat explosion at Frank S. Farley State Marina, authorities said.  The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, according to New Jersey State Police. The explosion occurred Friday at 4:50 p.m. on a 33-foot Sea Ray at C dock in the marina, according to Sgt. First Class Lawrence Peele, an NJSP spokesman. State troopers, Atlantic City Fire and Rescue, Atlantic City EMS and the U.S. Coast Guard responded.
