Carriage Horse Likely Died From Cardiac Event While Pulling Cape May Tourists, Necropsy Says
A horse that died while pulling a carriage of tourists in Cape May was likely killed by cardiac arrest or a blood clot, according to a necropsy. An 18-year-old Percheron gelding named Ice died suddenly "in a very public setting" on Thursday, June 27, the Cape May Carriage Company said in a Facebook post. The company offers tours showcasing Victorian architecture in Cape May's historic district. The company said Ice was the first horse to die while pulling a carriage since the business began in 1983. The ratio of people who have suffered from blood clots after receiving the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is approximately the same as those who receive the AstraZeneca vaccine, according to a new study. CDC, FDA Call For Pause On Johnson & Johnson Vaccine
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the US Food and Drug Administration are calling for a pause on the use of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine due to six cases of "rare and severe" blood clot cases reported. All six cases occurred among women between 18 and 48, and symptoms occurred 6 to 13 days after vaccination, FDA officials said in a joint statement.
