Toms River Trio Arrested In Fatal Shooting
Three men from Toms River have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old from Bayville earlier this month, authorities said. Shadrach Correa, 18, Daivon Sullivan, 18, and Leyron Jones, 23, have been charged with murder in the Oct. 11 shooting death of Javon Cutler of Bayville, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Toms River Township Police Chief Mitchell A. Little. A 19-year-old Bayville man shot in the head leaving Toms River apartments over the weekend died of his injuries, authorities said. Javon Cutler of Bayville succumbed to his injuries at approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A 19-year-old former varsity high school football player was in critical condition Monday following a Sunday night incident in which he was shot in the head in Toms River, authorities said. NJ Men Who Thought They Were Meeting Underage Girls For Sex Headed To Prison
Two South Jersey men were each sentenced to a plea-bargained four years in state prison Wednesday for trying to lure what they thought were underage girls to meet them for sex. The “girls” whom William Singleton, 25, of Pemberton, and Charles Schlottfeld, 28, of Bayville met online were actually undercover detectives. A Jersey Shore man who authorities said arranged to meet an underage girl for sex in a Morris County park was arrested on a trio of charges – including violating state coronavirus emergency orders. Robert Murphy, 19, of Bayville contacted the girl through social media, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal aid. Port Redding Man, 30, Killed In Monmouth County Garden State Parkway Crash
A 30-year-old man from Port Redding died in a two-car crash along the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. State police identified the man killed near the Monmouth Service Area in Wall Township at 10:24 a.m. as Patrick A Elhalaka Glendola and Wall firefighters were called to milepost marker 99.9 northbound, a state police spokesman said. Elhalaka was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman said. An occupant of the other vehicle, Tresy M. Thomas of Bayville was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause of the collision is under investigation, authorities said.

Math Teacher From Bayville Accused Of Second Lewd Act In Girls' Locker Room
A second incident of lewd behavior involving a math teacher is under investigation in Ocean County. Joshua Eckersley, 33, of Bayville, already faces one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said he surrendered to police Thursday afternoon. Both incidents occurred on Sunday, Jan. 12, according to the prosecutor's office.
