3 Jersey Cash 5 Lottery Players Split $276K
Three lucky tickets matched all five numbers drawn splitting the $275,829 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the Monday, Dec. 19, drawing. Each ticket is worth $91,943. The winning numbers were: 11, 13, 18, 29, and 30 and the XTRA number was: 04. The retailers will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for each winning ticket sold. Lakewood Man Sentenced For Sexual Assault On Minor: Prosecutor
Norman Medina, 45, of Lakewood, was sentenced to 15 years in New Jersey State Prison for the aggravated sexual assault of a minor, authorities said. Medina previously pleaded guilty to the offense on July 14, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. The case involved the sexual assault of a minor child in the defendant’s Lakewood home on several occasions when the child was between the ages of five and twelve, the prosecutor said. : Boyfriend Kills Girlfriend Then Himself In South Jersey, Authorities Say
An Atlantic County man killed himself after fatally shooting his Gloucester County girlfriend, authorities said. Police were called to Ogden Road in Deptford at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28. They found the bodies of the resident, Erin Gatier, 47, and William Beattie, also 47, of Landisville, inside, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Autopsies performed on their bodies by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office found the incident was a murder-suicide, investigators said. Atlantic County Announces Major Sweep Of Child Sex Offenders
Nearly 100 Atlantic County child sex offenders were arrested in a massive bust, authorities announced. Local agency law enforcement partners from throughout Atlantic County have charged 70 individuals with offenses including child luring, endangering a child by sexual conduct, and sexual assault. 73 Beach Patrol Violations Found On Jersey Shore By NJ Labor Department
Prompted by two lifeguard deaths, the New Jersey Department of Labor recently inspected beach patrols across the Jersey Shore. The department found 73 violations of safety and recordkeeping rules including 44 in Ocean County. The lifeguard deaths were in August 2021. Norman Inferrera III, 16, died after his patrol surfboat capsized in Cape May at Reading Avenue Beach, and Keith Pinto, 19, died after he was struck by lightning at White Sands Beach in Berkeley Township. A 42-year-old inmate at the Atlantic County Justice Facility remains in a coma after he was brutally stomped by a 26-year-old inmate last week, according to authorities and various news reports. Shakur L. Aabid has been charged with attempted murder in the Sept. 13 incident that landed Hassan Robinson in the hospital fighting for his life, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Robinson's family. PA Woman Struck, Killed In South Jersey: Police
A 36-year-old pedestrian from Pennsylvania was struck and killed in Atlantic County, authorities said. Heather L. Gerevics was crossing Millville Avenue at the intersection of Route 40 in Hamilton at 7:58 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 17, when she was hit, police said. Gerevics, of Washington, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drive of a Nissan Pathfinder, Herman Lopex, 53, from the Mays Landing section of Hamilton, stopped., police said. A 60-year-old man from South Jersey was sentenced to 17 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 1996 aggravated sexual assault and 2003 endangerment of two Atlantic County children, authorities said. Man Sentenced For Sex Assault On Bally's Hotel-Casino Housekeeper In Atlantic City
A 36-year-old man from New York was sentenced to 42 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2018 aggravated sexual assault of a Bally’s Hotel and Casino housekeeper, authorities said. The sentence follows a two-week trial culminating in the conviction by an Atlantic County jury of Jamel Carlton, of Saugerties, NY, on March 31, 2022. In addition to sexual assault, Carlton was convicted on burglary and criminal restraint charges.
