The unnamed driver from Berlin was headed south on Haddonfield Berlin Road in a 2008 Honda at a high rate of speed when they struck a 2024 Lexus SUV being operated by a 53-year-old Atco resident just before 10:10 p.m. near Lafayette Avenue in Voorhees, local police said. Authorities identified a man who was struck and killed by a police car in South Jersey before dawn on Thanksgiving as a 44-year-old resident of Berlin. Woman Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train
A woman was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train in Camden County, authorities said. She was hit just south of the Lindenwold station by Atlantic City Rail Line train 4612 at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, a NJ Transit spokesman said. Service between Atco and Cherry Hill was temporarily suspended in both directions. There were about 160 passengers and crew on the train, which left Atlantic City at 6:49 a.m. and was due in Philadelphia at 8:28 a.m. The woman’s name was not immediately available. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.

A Camden County dog-breeding couple who gave sick puppies to clients have been slapped with animal cruelty charges, authorities said Friday. People told police the puppy showed signs of illness quickly after being bought from Casey Gleockler, 40, and his wife, Kristina Gleockler, 39, at their home in Atco in August, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Waterford Township Police chief Daniel Cormaney said. One of the puppies died the next night, authorities said. A female driver died when an NJ Transit train struck her car in Hammonton Thursday afternoon, officials said. An Atlantic City Rail Line train leaving Atlantic City at 2:40 p.m. struck the vehicle around 3:20 p.m., NJ Transit spokeswoman Kate Thompson said.
