An Aberdeen woman has died more than three weeks after she was hospitalized in a suspected hit-and-run crash, authorities said. Judith Fox-Hernandez, 58, died from her injuries, the Aberdeen Township Police Department said in a news release on Wednesday, Oct. 2. She was hit near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Second Street at around 7:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Carriage Horse Likely Died From Cardiac Event While Pulling Cape May Tourists, Necropsy Says
A horse that died while pulling a carriage of tourists in Cape May was likely killed by cardiac arrest or a blood clot, according to a necropsy. An 18-year-old Percheron gelding named Ice died suddenly "in a very public setting" on Thursday, June 27, the Cape May Carriage Company said in a Facebook post. An Asbury Park teen will spend several years in prison after admitting to raping, torturing, and killing his pet cat, authorities said. Bani Mezquititla, 19, was sentenced on Thursday, June 13 to five years in state prison, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. He pleaded guilty to two third-degree animal cruelty charges in April. Animal rights organization PETA is calling for an investigation into a Central Jersey slaughterhouse after an employee was accused of hitting a lamb with a crowbar.
