Kimmy's Safe Haven Rescue said it's in "desperate need" of adopters and fosters of the pets found in a Galloway Township home on Monday, July 1. Nancy Santos, 57, was charged with 43 counts of animal neglect. Galloway police said officers rescued 29 cats and seven dogs from the Cresson Avenue home. Police Rescue 83 Cats From Jersey Shore Home Police in Brick said they rescued 83 cats and three dogs from a home in the township. On Thursday evening, May 4, Brick police said they had received a call from a resident on Mantoloking Road requesting police assistance for "an excessive number of cats inside the residence." Police requested assistance from Berkeley Hazmat as well as Brick Township Fire District #1.  Once conditions were determined to be safe, authorities began removing the animals, police said. More Than 100 Neglected Cats Rescued From NJ Hoarding Situation More than 100 neglected cats were rescued from a hoarding situation at a home in South Bound Brook, rescue officials said. Animal control officers from St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center were called in to assist local police after a neighbor complained about a foul odor coming from the home, St Hubert's said.  Dozens of cats and kittens were subsequently found living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, officials said.
