Riders Suffer Broken Bones As Segway Scooters Fold Mid-Ride, Sparking Massive Recall
Two popular Segway electric scooters are being recalled after dozens of riders were injured when the handlebars or stem collapsed mid-ride, sending some crashing to the ground.
More than 220,000 Segway Ninebot Max G30P and Max G30LP KickScooters are affected by the recall, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 20.
Segway has received 68 reports of folding mechanism failures, according to the CPSC. The incidents include 20 injuries such as abrasions, bruises, lacerations, and broken bones.

After multiple deaths, 450 fires, 2,000 incidents of overheating, and $19 million in property damage – millions of dehumidifiers are being recalled, according to a release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Aug. 16, 2023.
The dehumidifiers were manufactured by Gree Electric Appliances, of China, and were sold under major brand names: Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima, the CPSC explained.

Authorities: Trio Charged In Hotel Room Burglary, Suffocation Of South Jersey Man, 31
Two South Jersey men have been arrested in last month's killing of a Camden man who was lured into a hotel room to be robbed, authorities said. The victim's stolen debit card was used to buy pizza and items from Amazon, police said.
Jawaad Ali, 28, of Lindenwold, and Anthony Sermond-Guyton, 29, of Clayton, were charged with murder, kidnapping, burglary and credit card theft, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Mount Laurel Police Chief Stephen Riedener said in a statement.
