Video: Haworth Nanny, Baby Stroller Struck By Hit-Run Van, Fleeing Rockland Driver Caught A Haworth nanny and an infant she was pushing in a stroller were struck Wednesday by a van driven by a FedEx worker from Rockland who fled the scene, authorities said. A police sergeant in neighboring Demarest stopped David Gutfeld, 56, of Airmont a short time later, Haworth Police Chief Michael Gracey said. Bedroom Fire Ravages Mahwah Home Near Rockland Border Fire destroyed the master bedroom of a Mahwah home near the Rockland border Tuesday afternoon. Mahwah firefighters, assisted at the scene by their colleagues from Ramsey and Suffern, doused the 2:30 p.m. blaze on Alcott Road, less than a half-mile from Airmont. No serious injuries were immediately reported in the fire, which went to three alarms for coverage. Firefighters contained the blaze to the master bedroom.
