Kitty Dukakis, the wife of former Massachusetts Governor and presidential nominee Michael Dukakis, died on Friday, March 21, at the age of 88, her family said.
Her son, John Dukakis, said in a statement that the mother of three died "surrounded by family."
She was born on December 26, 1936, and lived a full life fighting to make the world a better place and sharing her vulnerabilities to help others face theirs. A New Jersey man who used an axe and battery-operated pole saw to kill his dad had been battling addiction and mental illness, according to family and police paperwork.
A blood-covered axe and battery-operated pole saw were found near 61-year-old Gregory Meyer’s body at the Old Denville Road home he shared with his 33-year-old son, Kyle, around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, according to an affidavit for probable cause obtained by Daily Voice.
