Second Suspect Charged In Central Jersey Shooting: Prosecutor

A 26-year-old Middlesex County man has been charged in connection with an October 2022 shooting, authorities said.

Gary Manley of Edison was charged while incarcerated with first-degree attempted murder,  first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons offenses, they said.

Another suspect was previously charged in the non-fatal shooting, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Highland Park Police Chief Richard Abrams.

On Oct. 28, 2022, at approximately 7:45 p.m., police responded to South Eleventh Avenue for a shooting, they said.

Police found a male victim who had been shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries, they said.

On Dec. 1, 2022, Shanta Nolberto, 23, of Piscataway was arrested in Highland Park without incident and charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, the prosecutor said.
