Crash Involving Pedestrian Shuts Down Central Jersey Road, Police Say Police were at the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian in a Monmouth County township, authorities said. Officers responded to the crash on Bethany Road on Monday, Aug. 12, Holmdel police said in a Facebook post at 9:15 a.m.  The crash investigation closed Bethany between Hillcrest and Line roads. Police didn't mention how many vehicles were involved or the condition of the pedestrian. The first break closed Route 522 eastbound between Stouts Lane and New Road, according to South Brunswick police. It created a 10-foot-wide sinkhole.
