More than a dozen people were arrested in Atlantic City during a recent operation targeting drug dealing and neighborhood crime, authorities said.
There were 14 people arrested in the investigation, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Prompted by complaints from residents and business owners, officers focused on issues reported near Bellevue, Florida, and Texas avenues for more than a month.

Nearly 20 people have been arrested in a major crackdown on drugs and illegal guns in Atlantic City, authorities said.
The Atlantic City Police Department announced the 19 arrests in a news release on Wednesday, Nov. 27. A weeks-long operation targeted drug activity and "quality-of-life issues" in the neighborhoods surrounding Florida, Bellevue, and Texas avenues.

A 15-year-old was arrested on the early morning of Saturday, Oct. 5, after firing gunshots in New Brunswick and shooting someone back in August, authorities said.

A Cape May man was accused of decapitating a seagull on the boardwalk in North Wildwood, authorities said.
Franklin Zeigler, 29, was charged with third-degree animal cruelty, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, the North Wildwood Police Department said in a news release on Monday, July 22.
Officers responded to a report of an animal cruelty incident at Morey's Piers on Saturday, July 6, and witnesses said Ziegler had decapitated the shorebird. Ziegler was also "irate and uncooperative" with police on an unrelated investigation.
