Dollar General will close more than 140 stores after a sharp drop in profits, marking a shift in strategy as the discount retailer faces rising costs and changing consumer habits. Shoppers will soon have another destination for deep discounts when a major off-price retailer opens in Somerset County. Ross Dress for Less will open its store in Watchung on Saturday, March 8.
