New Brunswick Pair Lead High-Speed Pursuit In Stolen Car In PA: Troopers

Two New Jersey men were charged following a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle, according to a Pennsylvania State Police release Daily Voicew received on Monday, Oct. 28.

Luis Peralta, 25, and Alberto Gomez, 29, both of New Brunswick, NJ, were arrested after attempting to evade troopers near mile marker 302 on Interstate 476 South on Thursday, Sept. 26, state police said. 

Troopers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, which had exceeded 70 mph. The vehicle was later determined to be stolen, according to state police. 

Both men were charged and scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday, Oct. 7, according to court documents. However, the preliminary hearing was rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 4

Peralta was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, receiving stolen property, DUI, and a litany of other traffic offenses. Gomez was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, receiving stolen property, recklessly endangering another person, and more.

Peralta was released from Montgomery County Prison on $25,000 bail, court documents state. Gomez was also released from the same facility on $50,000 bail.
