NYU Langone, Upmc To End Gender-Affirming Care For Minors In DOJ Deals
Two major New York and Pennsylvania health systems will stop providing gender-affirming medical care to minors under agreements reached with the US Department of Justice, federal officials announced Friday, Sept. 18.
NYU Langone Hospitals and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, or UPMC, agreed to stop providing puberty blockers, hormones, and surgical procedures to patients younger than 18, according to the DOJ.
NYU also agreed to pay $8.5 million, while UPMC will pay $950,000 as part of the resolutions, the department said.

Serial Illegal Dumper Arrested: Wall Twp Police
A 28-year-old Long Branch man was arrested for illegally dumping numerous times in Wall Township, authorities announced Thursday, Sept. 17.
Between Wednesday, Aug. 12 and Tuesday, Sept. 8, officers responded to a business on Campus Parkway on three separate occasions regarding unauthorized dumping, Wall Township police said.
Investigators determined that the dumped materials, which appeared to originate from storage units, totaled more than 10 cubic yards and resulted in removal costs exceeding $2,000, police said.
