Travis Bogin was looking for a thresher shark. What he got was a white shark. The 39-year-old Little Egg Harbor fisherman was on the water 12 miles of of Atlantic City Wednesday, June 12, when he felt a shark hit his line around 11:30 a.m., he said. He didn't know what type of fish it was until it was five or six feet away from the boat, Bogin said. The shark rolled on its belly and Bogin realized: "Holy cow, that's a white shark. NJ Detective Required To Sell Handguns Later Reported One As Stolen: Prosecutor
A 47-year-old police detective from the Jersey Shore was required to sell handguns due to a restraining order, authorities said. And in 2022, Matthew Curtis signed paperwork saying he did, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. But months later, when some of his guns were stolen out of his car in Little Egg Harbor, the Island Heights detective filed a police report saying that one of the firearms he had claimed he sold was among the items stolen, Billhimer said. Toddler, Baby Hurt In DUI Mom's South Jersey Crash, Police Say
A 27-year-old woman from South Jersey was driving under the influence of drugs when she drove off the road to avoid a head-on collision last spring, authorities said. Rachel Huff of Little Egg Harbor and two of her daughters were seriously hurt in the crash, according to Hamilton Township police. Huff was charged Thursday with two criminal counts of assault by auto and for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license causing serious bodily injury, police said in a statement.
