Uber Driver, Buddy Stole $165K In Luxury Items, Cocaine, 15 LBS Of Marijuana: Kearny PD
A Newark Uber driver and his buddy from the Bronx were nabbed after a four-month-long investigation that yielded 15 pounds of pot, $165,000 in luxury goods and more, police said.
Javier Ortega, 40, of Newark, NJ, and Severiano Ybert Perez, 42, of Bronx, NY, were arrested on Tuesday, July 12, Kearny Police Chief George King said.
The investigation all started with two burglaries reported in one multi-family home on Argyle Place on Feb. 27, police said.

Intruder Climbs In Through Bedroom Window, Rapes Clifton Child: Authorities
An intruder climbed in through a Clifton child’s bedroom window, then raped and choked the trapped youngster, authorities said.
Andres Vasquez, 24, of Belleville was captured on Friday after Clifton detectives interviewed the victim and witnesses following last Tuesday’s attack, they said.
Vasquez, who has a criminal history, remains held in the Passaic County Jail, charged with first-degree aggravated assault and kidnapping, as well as sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal restraint, criminal contact, burglary and child endangerment.

Murder: Lodi Woman, 44, Slain By Abusive Husband, Authorities Charge
A 44-year-old Lodi woman who suffered repeated assaults at the hands of her estranged husband was stabbed to death by him, authorities said.
Civilians held down Joel Cinco, 48, for police after he stabbed Janet Cinco on Westervelt Place, between Willard and Arnot Street, around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, responders said.
Police who were first on the scene conducted CPR before EMS took over and brought Janet Cinco to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was rushed into surgery.
She died in the operating room, sources with direct knowledge of the killing said.

Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder In Trenton Double Shooting: Hamilton PD
The suspect in a Trenton double shooting has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, authorities announced.
Peter Nyema, of Trenton, was charged with two counts each of criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and burglary, as well as robbery and several weapons offenses, the Hamilton Police Division said.
Officers responding to the shooting report near the 500 block of Lalor Street found two victims with gunshot wounds around 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, DailyVoice.com reported.
