Driver Arrested In Hit-Run Crash That Left 10-Year-Old Girl Critical: Police
A 28-year-old driver has been arrested in an alleged hit-and-run crash, authorities said.
The crash in Bridgeton left a 10-year-old girl in critical condition, they said.
Sierra A. Thomas, of Bridgeport, was charged Thursday, May 11 with knowingly leaving a motor vehicle accident that resulted in serious injury and endangering an injured victim, police said.
The girl was hit by an SUV as she crossed East Broad Street on her way to Wawa at 7:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, police said.

South Jersey Pair Sentenced In 9-Year-Old Girl's Shooting Death: Prosecutor
Two Cumberland County men were sentenced to 30 years in New Jersey State Prison in the shooting death of a 9-year-old girl, authorities said.
Michael Elliot, 30, and Zahmere McKoy, 23, both of Bridgeton, were sentenced on Wednesday, March 22, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
The co-defendants previously were found guilty in October 2022 of conspiracy to commit murder and reckless manslaughter, Webb-McRae said.

Both New Jersey natives are Kansas City Chiefs players, and will make their Super Bowl debuts Sunday, Feb. 12 when against the Philadelphia Eagles.
