Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends In Linden Crash, 3 In Custody: Cops
Three people were in custody in Linden following a pursuit-crash involving a stolen vehicle on Friday, Aug. 30, authorities said.
Police in Linden were notified of a pursuit entering the area around 5:30 p.m., police said in a Facebook post.
The pursuit had been terminated on Route 1 near S. Wood Ave. A short time later, the stolen vehicle struck a curb near the intersection of S. Stiles Street 21st Street and became disabled, police said.

Pedestrian, 41, Killed By Car On Route 1&9, Police Say
A 41-year-old Winfield Park man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Linden on the early morning of Wednesday, June 5, authorities said.
At 1:20 a.m., police responded to S. Wood Avenue and Routes 1 and 9 on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, Linden police said in a release.
The pedestrian was crossing Route 1 and 9 when he was struck by a 2021 Honda Civic traveling southbound, police said.
The man, who was not identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Arrest Made In Warinanco Park Killing, Prosecutor Says
A Linden man has been arrested in the Warinanco Park killing of a 29-year-old man last weekend, authorities said.
Gerald O. Walker, 47, shot Shakir Manns, also of Linden, at the park in Roselle around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, the county prosecutor's office said.
Manns was found dead at the scene and Walker surrendered to the Elizabeth Police Department on Friday, May 24, authorities said. He's charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Collin Jimenez, NJ Bartender Dies Suddenly At 27
Collin Jimenez, a Linden native, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 15, according to his obituary.
Born in New Brunswick, Jimenez lived in South River and Linden, graduating Linden High School in 2016, his obituary reads. He was manager for Bonefish Grill in East Brunswick and worked at 33's Tavern in South River as a bartender, according to his obituary.
In his free time, Jimenez enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his family and friends, especially his daughter Emily, his obituary reads.
