Downed Wires From Crash Close Route 9 For Hours: Woodbridge PD A stretch of Route 9 was closed Tuesday morning, Jan. 7 due to a weather-related overnight crash, police said. A vehicle struck a utility pole in the northbound lanes, causing wires to fall onto the roadway, Woodbridge Police Captain Brian Murphy said. While no injuries were reported in the single-car crash, all lanes are expected to remain closed during the morning commute as crews work to restore utilities and clear the roadway, Murphy said. Vehicle Flips, Closes Route 9 In Central Jersey (Developing) Route 9 in Middlesex County was closed after a vehicle overturned, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23 on the northbound ramp to Route 440 in Woodbridge, according to the NJDOT. All lanes were closed,, 511nj.org reported. Check back for updates.
