Bright Fireballs Could Highlight Taurid Meteor Shower Peak The Taurid meteor shower is approaching a peak that could give skywatchers a bright reason to stay up late. The Southern Taurids’ November peak falls overnight Wednesday, Nov. 4, into Thursday, Nov. 5, according to the American Meteor Society’s calendar. The following night, Thursday into Friday, Nov. 6, also offers a viewing opportunity. Skywatchers across the Northeastern US should look around midnight and into the early morning hours, weather permitting.
