Trump Targeted In Assassination Threats By PA Man From Same County As 2024 Shooting: DOJ
A Pennsylvania man who threatened to assassinate President Donald J. Trump and other U.S. officials has now been sentenced, federal authorities announced on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Shawn Monper, 33, of Butler, admitted in federal court to making threats to assault and murder U.S. officials and federal law enforcement agents, according to U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Monper pleaded guilty to two counts related to threatening officials, and as part of his plea agreement, accepted responsibility for additional charges tied to his online activity on Monday, April 13, authorities said.

DC Police Officer Dies Of Gunshot Wound Sustained At Police Station
A Washington, DC, police officer has died after suffering a gunshot wound at a local police station, the department confirmed.
The officer, who was not identified, was critically wounded at the Metropolitan Police Department's Second District station on the 3300 block of Idaho Avenue NW just after 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, an MPD spokesperson tells Daily Voice. The officer was taken to a hospital, where he died.
"Nothing currently indicates that another party was involved," the spokesperson said.

Former Fox Affiliate TV Anchor Admits To Stabbing Mother To Death
A former local television news anchor whose career included several stations across the country has admitted to a crime that could keep her behind bars for decades.
Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 48, pleaded guilty Friday, Aug. 21, to first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office. Mock faces a presumptive life sentence with eligibility for parole after 25 years.
Her sentencing is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5.
