Crane Crashes Through Roof Of NJ Home
A crane toppled over and came crashing through the roof of a New Jersey home on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Local firefighters shared a photo from the scene on Lea Drive in Hamilton (Mercer County) following the mid-afternoon incident. According to 6ABC Action News it was not clear whether or not anyone was injured.

Woman Rescued From Roof In North Plainfield Fire (

A woman escaped a fire after being rescued from the roof of her home in North Plainfield early Friday morning, July 11, authorities said. At 1:25 a.m., first responders were dispatched to 489 Richard Way and found the residence engulfed in flames with several residents standing on the front lawn, North Plainfield police said. One woman was still inside the residence, police said. Officials began rescue attempts, however the woman was extremely frightened to leave the roof area, police said. NJ Man Killed In Mobile Home Fire: Avenel FD
A 65-year-old man was killed in a fire at his Avenel mobile home early morning Wednesday, May 14, authorities said. At 4:20 a.m., firefighters responded to Hiram Homes near South Inman Avenue and North Second Street after receiving a report of a fire, Cory Spillar with the Avenel Fire Department said. Firefighters broke down the door and found the man, who was not identified, sitting in a chair in the kitchen, Spillar said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Spillar said. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in 20 minutes, Spillar said. T…

Home Catches Fire After Car Crash: Manalapan PD
A vehicle crashed into a home, causing it to be set ablaze on the morning of Tuesday, April 1 in Manalapan, authorities said. At 5:02 a.m., a car crashed into a home on Craig Road near Symmes Drive, and the home then caught on fire, Manalapan police said. The driver of the vehicle was removed by passing motorists, and was transported to an area hospital, police said. A person inside the house was safely removed, police said, and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, police said. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

Two Women Dead In Newark Boat Fire: Prosecutor
Two women were killed and one man was injured in a Newark boat fire Friday, Feb. 21, authorities said. Firefighters responded to the boat parked in an alleyway near Pinnsy Place, which was engulfed in flames, just before 9 p.m., officials said. Two women died and one man was in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office conducts an active and ongoing investigation.

Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said.
